2007 West High Athletic Auction - "Bid High for West High"
A Complete Success!!!
The newly formed West High Athletic Foundation held its inaugural West High Auction on August 25th, 2007 at Park Place Event Center, and raised a whopping $120,000.00 for West High Athletic programs! Over 250 Wahawk families, coaches, alumni and community supporters enjoyed a 4 course meal, while emcees Forry Smith and Dan Watters, and auctioneer Roger Kueter sold over 200 prizes in both the live and silent auction. Highlights of the auction included a 2002 Volkswagen donated by C&S Car Company, vacation packages, gourmet dinners, Lasik eye surgery and reserved student parking.
Spearheading the event were Sharon Voigt, George Cooley, Ken Samek and Dave Richter, along with 38 members of the steering committee. Sponsors included Bertch Cabinets, C & S Car Company, Cedar Valley Eye Care, Color FX, Dan and Alice Watters, Fahr Beverage, Hawkeye Alarm, Jim Lind BP Service, John Pedersen, Dr. Larry Lenth, Northland Products Company, TurnKey Associates, Covenant Clinic and the West High Class of 1975.
“The success of this event shows you can’t underestimate the West High Wahawk family,” said foundation chair woman, Sharon Voigt. “When called upon, they come together and get the job done."
